Friday Memo – February 17, 2012
Friday, February 17th, 2012

Dear Friends,

AdvancED Visit Findings

This past week, Westgate hosted an accreditation team to review our school. Please click the link to the attached letter from Mrs. Barratt describing their findings.

President’s Day

WCA will be closed next Monday, February 20th for President’s Day. There will not be any services offered.

WCA GALA

Remember to send in table, ticket, and donation forms asap. This will ensure that the Gala committee can be organized, efficient, and keep everyone posted on this year’s exciting event!

Enrollment
Enrollment in underway for the 2012-13 school year! Remember you must return the Family Fundraising Agreement and your registration check for $100 to the school in order to be fully enrolled and secure your child’s space.  Seats are assigned on a first come, first served basis and many classes are filling up!  In order to be sure your child can return – especially in next year’s kindergarten and grades 2, 4, and 5 – it is a good idea to turn in your registration as soon as possible.
ECC Position
There is currently a need for an additional employee to work afternoon and/or morning hours at our EC building. Any interested persons should contact Sheri Michael.

Guide for Open Enrollment

Looking to enroll for next year? Enrollment forms are coming in! Follow these steps to secure your spot for next year!

Go to RenWeb.com

click “Login”
click “Parent Login”
Enter the District Code – “WCA-MO”
Enter your username – your e-mail address
Enter your password
Once you are into their RenWeb Page:
Click on “Family Information”
Click on “Enrollment/Reenrollment”
Put a check by the student(s) name
Then you simply follow the steps.  You can make changes to your demographics as you go.
When you get to a link that says “download the family fundraising agreement”, you can open it and print it at that time.  If you are unable to open it and print it we have hard copies in the office.
A screen will come up and tell you that your enrollment is complete.  The last step is to bring in a check for $100/per student and a signed family fundraising agreement! Then you’re ready for next year!
WCA Middle School

WCA Lion Gold Crest

Current Need
When our students paint in Art class, they use paper plates to hold the paint. These are the best method of keeping paint on the paper and off the floor. We need more!

Please consider donating paper plates to the WCA Art classes. Large paper plates are needed for classes that involve mixing paint, and small plates can be used for other classes. Additionally, for particular projects, empty egg containers lend themselves perfectly. Please send any donations that you can to either the elementary or middle school offices. Thank You!

Box Tops
The winners of January’s Box Tops Contest are;
Early Childhood – Ms. Sheri’s class won a warm and cozy PJ day
Elementary School – Mrs. Kubik’s class won a No Uniform Day
Middle School – 8th grade won a No Uniform Day
Reading T-shirt day
Next Tuesday, February 21st is a reading t-shirt day. Students are encouraged to wear their reading t-shirts and blue jeans.
Gala Need
The annual WCA Gala is approaching fast! We will need each family to lend a hand to gather donations for the silent auction. Think of the places you visit each day, they may be willing to donate to WCA!
As extra incentive, each item that is donated for the Gala by a WCA family will earn “1 point” for each classroom that they represent. One point can also be earned for each Gala guest of that family. After the Gala, the classroom out of the three campuses that has the most points will win $100 for a party of their choosing!
Waivers Note
Please return brown waiver envelopes to the office. The envelopes are costly to replace and reusing envelopes helps us to be better stewards of our resources. Thank you!
