5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk

While Westgate Christian Academy impacts students academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually, we also encourage good health through direct teaching about exercise and diet, offer sports opportunities, and encourage students and adults to challenge themselves in the annual 5k run which we call the WESTGATE LIONS PRIDE PROWL.  We invite you, whether you are a member of the Westgate family or not, to join us in this race.  Invite your family and friends, who would endorse the kind of Christian education Westgate provides, to sponsor you in your run.  All proceeds from the run go to sponsor the operation of our school.  This, and other fundraisers we conduct throughout the year, help us keep tuition as low as possible so more families can put their children in a program where God – His love and justice – is a part of their daily lives.

This year’s 5K race and 1 mile Fun Run/Walk is on Saturday, May 7, 2011. The race will take place at Quail Ridge Park in Wentzville near the intersection of Highways 70 and 64. Check-in will begin promptly at 7:30am. Westgate volunteers will be on hand to check-in online registrants and hand out registrants’ shirts, souvenir booklets, and goodie bags.  While we do encourage everyone to register online by April 27th to insure you will receive a quik dri shirt, walk in’s on the day of the race are welcomed. The 5K will start promptly at 8:30am and the one mile Fun Run/Walk will begin at 9:00am. We will be using the chip timing system and there will be bottled water and snacks provided for all participants at the end of the races.

PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION

Registration Fee for Adults/Children – $25
(Although the registration fee is $25, we are encouraging participants to solicit sponsors who will contribute any amount toward that participant’s fund raising goal.)
Participants must be registered by April 27th in order to insure he/she will receive a quik dri shirt as a souvenir of the run! Westgate will accept registration forms & fees up to and on the day of the race, but you will not be guaranteed to receive a shirt.

*For Westgate families, all monies raised through the PRIDE PROWL will count toward the fulfillment of your Family Fundraising Agreement (including the $25 Registration fee).  Please note you can invite persons to run in support of your family and any monies they earn will also count toward your fundraising amount for school year 2011-2012.*

To better help facilitate the fulfillment of your Family Fundraising Agreement and to make giving easy, effective and fun, Westgate has partnered with the online resource, FirstGiving.com.

* Please note that if you invite persons to run in support of your family, they need to “Join your Team” through the FirstGiving site. This insures that Westgate will know how to disburse monies raised to the correct family account.

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

We are also seeking sponsorships for the race. All ads and sponsorships must be in to the office on Monday, 5/1/11. There are several different levels of sponsorship that can be purchased:

• GOLD LEVEL - For a contribution of $500 and up, your business will be given a FULL PAGE  ad in our PRIDE PROWL program. Also, a sign will be posted as a mile marker giving your name and thanking you for your generous contribution.  You can also reserve a table to advertise and sell your business items.
• SILVER LEVEL - For a contribution of $250-$499, your business will be given one-third of a page for your ad in our PRIDE PROWL program, a sign with the name of your business placed at a mile marker on the race path and you can set up a table to advertise and sell your business items.
• BRONZE LEVEL – For a contribution of $100-$249, your business will be given one-fourth of a page for your ad in our PRIDE PROWL program and you can set up a table to advertise and sell your business items.
• FRIENDS OF WESTGATE PLUS – For a contribution of $50-$99, your business will be given one-tenth of a page for your ad in our PRIDE PROWL program and you can set up a table to advertise and sell your business items.
• FRIENDS OF WESTGATE - For a contribution of $25, your business will be given one-tenth of a page for your ad in our PRIDE PROWL program.

CLASSROOM COMPETITION REWARDS

• The Westgate Elementary School classroom that brings in the most money to the PRIDE PROWL will receive a half day at the O’Fallon YMCA as their reward.
• The Westgate Middle School classroom that brings in the most money to the PRIDE PROWL will receive a bowling party at the Brunswick Zone as their reward.

WESTGATE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY RECEIVES 2011 BEST OF ST. PETERS AWARD

St. Peters, MO  February 16, 2011 –  For the third consecutive year, Westgate Christian Academy has been selected as the Best Private Elementary & Secondary School in St. Peters, MO.

Westgate was incorporated in 2005 and serves students from Infant through 8^th grade.  Westgate is accredited through AdvancEd, formerly the North Central Association, and currently serves 222 students.

Westgate staff members work in partnership with families to provide a Christ-centered environment with a challenging academic curriculum.  This partnership develops students who are academically prepared to serve Jesus Christ with all their heart, mind and strength.

Are you considering Christian education for your child?  Westgate has so much to offer your family.  We are a relatively small school, 170 students in Kindergarten through eighth grade, and approximately 80 students involved in our Early Childhood Program – where we serve students aged two years through four years.

Westgate is a place where everyone is known by their name; parents get to know other parents because our parents are very involved in the life of the school, and this creates a very healthy community culture in which children can experience security, support, and see the Christian faith lived out before them daily.
