2012 Green and Gold Gala
Dear Westgate Friends and Family,
In the Bible, Jesus tells us that it is our job to tell others about His saving grace and make disciples of them. Everyday we are partnering with parents to do that at Westgate. We invite Jesus to join us as we go about teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic – all truth is from Him. To carry out this mission we annually have a fundraiser that dwarfs all the others – the Green and Gold Gala. This one event is figured into our budget and helps us keep tuition and fees as low as possible so we can reach more people.
This year’s event was the most successful of any Gala we’ve sponsored, and we owe a debt of gratitude to all those who participated.
- In all, $57,000 was raised.
- There were 325 people with paid attendance and 342 items offered for sale – significantly more than ever before.
- Laughter filled the rooms and a good time was had by all.
It was a great night to spend with our Westgate friends and family. Thank you so much for:
- soliciting items and sponsorships,
- organizing and planning the event,
- inviting friends who could support us by investing in our mission,
- and thank you to all who attended and purchased items.
In addition, this year we had more businesses willing to advertise with us than ever before. I truly hope that you will see an increase in business as a result of your support. We want this to be a win for you and a win for our Westgate families and friends as they hear about outstanding, ethical businesses here in our own community. Together, playing different roles, this cash infusion in our bank account will allow us to serve children and serve God better this year and next.
