Fundraising Opportunities

Westgate Fundraising Efforts

Below is a list of ways Westgate parents can help the school raise money.  Westgate has no other source of income except the tuition and fees paid for services, and these various fundraisers in which our parents can participate.  We encourage every family to get involved with as many of these opportunities as possible.  Monies earned through all of these methods go to support the operation of the school and improvement of school programs.

Escript

This program can be more fully understood by visiting their website at:  www.escrip.com.  The short version is that you go to their website, register your credit card, and then every time you use that credit card to make purchases at participating vendors – in our area that includes Macy’s, Schnuck’s, and the Post Dispatch among others – a portion of what you spend comes back to the school you identify as your favorite charity.

Westgate Waivers

This program warrants a page of its own here on our website.  Parents can purchase gift certificates for restaurants, gas, grocery stores, and just about every other vendor you might frequent.  You pay $100 for a $100 gift certificate, but then that company returns a percentage back to our school.  If your purchase was $100 and their discount was 4%, two percent would be credited to the school, and two percent would be credited to your family.  This is a great fund raiser and it doesn’t cost you anything!  For more information, visit:  www.glscrip.com

Businesses can use their credit cards to purchase gift certificates and designate Westgate as the recipient of any discounts.  You can find out more about this program by visiting this website:   www.rewardsandmoregiftcards.com

Trivia Night

This year’s TRIVIA NIGHT will be October 17, 2008.  We need a group of parents to help us with organizing this effort and making it a success.  Please contact Mrs. Barratt directly if you would be willing to help with this activity.

Dinner/Auction

This will take place in April.  We’re encouraging parents to help us gain corporate sponsors for the event as well as gather items for auctioning.  We need a committee to organize this event, and we would love to have your help.  We hope to make this the most fun and the most profitable fundraiser of the year.

Butter Braids

We'll sell BUTTER BRAIDS in October and they will be delivered in November - in time to serve to those out of town guests who come for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Boxtops 4 Education

Each time your family uses a General Mills product, look for the BOXTOPS 4 EDUCAITON label on the package.  Cut that label off and save it.  Ask friends and family to save them as well.  This program brought in over $900 last year!  Send in the Boxtops to your child’s teacher as soon as you get three or four.  We’ll have a definite deadline in March to have them all turned in, but it is easier for our coordinator if they come in regularly rather than have so many at the last minute.  For more information, check their website:  www.boxtops4education.com.

T.J. Pizzas

In the spring, we’ll do another sale of TJ Pizzas.  Most people who purchased these pizzas loved them and we’ve been asked to make them available once again.  This will likely take place in the spring months.

Target Credit Card

Target offers a percentage of everything you spend through your Target Credit Card back to Westgate.  You simply apply for a Target credit card and name Westgate as your charity of choice.

Friday Nights With Luigi and Raffaeles

Look for notices in the Friday memos that let you know L&R will be open on certain Fridays and they will be donating back to the school a portion of their receipts.
