Dear Westgate Friends,
Fall is now upon us and here at school that means some solid weeks for instruction/learning without too many interruptions. Please help our teachers make the most of their instruction time by arriving on time; not picking up early unless it is for doctor’s appointments or other engagements that require early dismissal. It is also important all year for children to get a good breakfast before they leave home in the morning. These are all things parents can do to support the efforts of our teachers here at school and we ask that you follow through in these areas.

Dodgeball!!
Back by popular demand; the annual WCA dodge ball tournament. If you are in 3rd through 8th grade you are invited to join us at Calvary Church on Monday, October 10th. We will have two separate tournaments: 3rd-5th grade starts at 6:00pm and 6th-8th grade starts at 7:00pm.

Each team will have a few players from each grade to make it as fair as possible. The cost to enter the tournament is $5.00 per player. The cost for every spectator will be $2.00 per person with all kids under 5 being free. Parents and siblings are encouraged to come and watch. There will be a concession stand available, so plan to come and have dinner as well. All proceeds go to benefit Westgate programs.
There will be a flyer sent out early next week that must be signed and returned no later than October 3rd to Coach Taylor so that he is able to form teams and construct the tournament accordingly. This is always a fun and exciting event…YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS IT!!
WCA Middle School
Checking In or Out?
Middle school parents, please remember that students who come late or leave early from school should sign in or out at the office. It is very important that we have an accurate record of those students who are in the building.
Hoedown!
STUCO invites middle school students to an old fashioned Hoedown at Broemmelsiek Park, 1615 Schwede Rd. (just south of O’Fallon) on Sat. Oct .22 7:30. The evening will include a 45 minute wagon ride, light dinner, s’mores at a bonfire and a one man musical comedy act by Babaloo. Please pre-pay Mrs.Cork $8.50 pre person, no refunds. There are only 20 spots so please sign up ASAP at the middle school, on the STUCO board.
Basketball Season!
Coach Taylor and Coach Greg Gibson will host a Basketball Registration night on Monday September, 26th at 6:00 pm at the Elementary. ALL Westgate students in grades 3 through 8 are encouraged to come out this year. Plan on coming out invite your friends; most of our teams are formed with players outside of Westgate. Contact Coach Taylor for more info.
Hot Lunch
Please remember to fill out each section of your hot lunch form, especially your child’s name and grade, and remember to pack a couple of napkins, forks, and spoons. The October menu and order forms are now available on Ren-Web.
Box Tops
Check out the box top prizes for the year and the October fun sheet that will make collecting box-tops fun for the whole family! Remember, the money earned goes toward FIELD DAY!

The Cold is Coming!
Remember that all of our ECC kiddos will need jackets at school this fall. The extra clothes students have in their cubbies should be switched to warmer clothes appropriate to the season. Also, those families who are able are invited to donate clorox to the ECC classrooms.
