Building Readers

Around the World Reading and Math Program 2009

It’s hard to believe, but we are nearing the end of this year’s reading and math program. April 30 will be the last day for reading logs, math sheets, and t-shirt updates, so please be timely in turning these in.

We hope that this year’s program has been a great experience for your children! We are very fortunate at Westgate to provide an incentive program with so many great activities and prizes that would not be possible without the support of our donors - St. Louis Cardinals Care, Target, and Wentzville Community Club. If your child enjoyed the program, we would be very happy to receive a hand-made thank you note that simply reads, “Dear Friend of Westgate,” and then some kind of picture or note about how the program is appreciated. We count on these donors for their financial support and we plan to approach them again this summer for funding for the 2009-10 academic year, and in these tough times with lots of charitable groups competing for funds, a little gratitude will  go a long way! Please consider including a thank you note in your bag with April’s materials - and pray that these donors will see fit to continue to support our school in this way.

To help in our programming efforts for next year, please help us out by completing this short survey and returning it by the end of April. Thank you in advance for your input!

REMINDER!

Be sure to participate in your summer library reading program and the Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Program that begins in June! Westgate students do receive certain levels of credit for summer reading toward their 2009-10 reading decals. Plus, both entities have great prizes and ideas for summer reading of their own. Happy reading!
