March 11, 2010
Dear Parents,
It is my wish that everyone has found some way to make these days off fun for your family. I am truly sorry we needed to close school for these two days, but with both staff and students absent, we weren’t accomplishing much and the number of people absent just kept growing instead of declining. The last day of school will now be June 3rd.
Here is the news for this week:
- Wednesday, March 17, is spring picture day. Only children who wish to buy pictures will be photographed. Students can wear their sports jersey; have a hockey stick as a prop, a stuffed animal, or other item that identifies who they are right now. This will be a non-uniform day for everyone.
- Thursday, March 18, is a reading shirt day. Students participating in the math and reading program wear their reading shirt and blue jeans on this day.
- Friday, March 19, is a spiritwear day.
Rescheduled events:
- The Dodgeball Tournament scheduled for the 15th has been moved to March 22nd. All other details remain the same.
- The Great Skate night scheduled for the 22nd has been moved to Saturday night, March 27, from 5:30 to 7:30.
Other Upcoming events:
- March 30 is our spring musical - Annie - and it will take place at Holt High School in Wentzville, starting at 7:00, doors open at 6:00. The entire Westgate family is invited! Entry fee of $3 per person or a maximum of $12 for a family. Don’t miss it!
- Parent/Principal coffee is scheduled for March 26, at 2:00 p.m., at the middle school. This is an opportunity for feedback and communication. Any Westgate parent is invited.
- Easter Party day at the elementary and pre-school will be April 1.
- Spring break starts Good Friday, April 2nd, and we return to school on Monday, April 12th. Childcare will be available everyday except Good Friday.

Psalms 78:3-4 - what we have heard and known, what our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done.
